About

Hi, I’m Joanne Cutler!

I did my first degree in Economics at the LSE and my masters at Birkbeck, more recently I gained my second masters in Global Energy and Climate Change from SOAS. While studying for this, I was struck by the potential synergies between economics and climate change. Economics is about studying incentive structures and has a lot to say about the causes of climate change and environmental degradation as well as how we go about fixing these. In my blog I will be focussing on energy transition issues from an economic perspective.

I started this blog to contribute to the debate about how to achieve net zero, drawing on public policy experience as a professional economist.
